Meet the Team

Amy

I am joint-owner of JLA Swim School and am the face behind the emails, as well as being on poolside. I have been teaching swimming since 2007 and really enjoy teaching children to swim; seeing them improve and grow in confidence is amazing.

I have also worked within schools for the last 15 years, working alongside children with educational needs, so I am conscious of inclusion and giving all children the opportunity to learn important life skills.

Chris

I am joint-owner of JLA Swim School and have been a swimming teacher since 2007. I am passionate about all sports having been a PE coordinator at a primary school for a number of years, resulting in multiple coaching qualifications alongside swimming. Being a school teacher has meant working with a range of different children, so I am flexible at meeting the needs of all children.

James

I am joint-owner of JLA Swim School and started my career as a swimming teacher in 2001. I worked at a leisure centre teaching swimming lessons, then went on to run their swim school of up to 1300 children at its peak. After being made redundant in 2016, we founded JLA Swim School and haven’t looked back.

Nicole

After coaching and teaching for the club I swam for, I developed my love for teaching, becoming a fully qualified swimming teacher in 2012. I took a break from teaching swimming when I qualified as a Primary School Teacher. After 4 years, I have decided to return to teaching in the pool, bringing with me a deeper understanding of skills development and inclusion.

Jarred

I am the newest member of JLA Swim School. I have always enjoyed swimming and was a County Level swimmer for 6 years. Prior to becoming a swimming teacher, I worked in a primary school for 3 years as a support assistant, which was the start of my career working with children.

Katie

My swimming teaching career began in 2020 when I started working at Langley Hall Primary academy, with them training me up as a swimming teacher alongside my work in the classroom. With my new qualifications, I began working for JLA Swim School in 2021 and have enjoyed teaching a range of children and abilities. I love supporting children to learn new skills, both in and out of the classroom.
